Craft Organization

Take a tour of my Craft Room for some organization ideas!

Having a closet is extremely helpful! Especially storage drawers to go along with that. If you could stack storage drawers in a closet, you should be able to fit everything in there and still be able to access to them easily.

Stickers, Embellishments, Rub-Ons, Etc...

3 ring binder, dividers and open-top protectors can help separate stickers and embellishments. If you have a large collection, a file box might work better for you.
File drawers also works nicely. These tool drawers can be found in the tool section of Target, Walmart, etc... They work wonders for eyelets, buttons and other small items.

Ink pad  & rubber stamps

This is actually a old cassette holder that I found at a thrift store. Ink pads fit nicely in the slots. Hint: store ink pads upside down for better coverage on stamps. Customize a rubber stamp shelf and screw to the wall behind your door for better use of space. All stamps are easily accessed and helps your creativity by being able to see them all at the same time- it can also be hidden out of sight with the door open.
Store ink pads and rubber stamps in tupperware drawers in catergories. Works nicely for smaller collections. Another option is to store them in regular drawers. Store stamps in shoebox tops or clear shadowbox frames on top of each other, slide them across to find the stamp you need.

Pens & Scissors

There's a myth that pens should be stored horizontally. This is just one way to do it. These pencil boxes were found at Target. This helps you see all of the colors from the top without having to shuffle through them.
Hang decorative scissors by using wires to hang them from under a white wired shelf in the closet. This makes it easy to find what you want. Use an addition of a shelving system (hanging shelf- found at Fred Meyers) turn that upside down and slip scissors through.
Build a decorative scissor holder with scrap wood.

Ribbon Storage

Cut bottom of cardboard box, punch holes for dowels to go through, secure with rubber bands to prevent ribbons from unraveling.

Use a storage box with holes- (found at Walmart), slip ribbons through the holes, just pull and cut!
2 tier storage racks- found at Lowe's in the kitchen organization section.  You can just pull and cut or take it with you for measurements. Same 2 tier storage racks, but side by side in the closet.
Ribbon storage found at Michael's.

Scrap Paper
File scrap papers by color. Always check scraps before using a fresh paper.

Other Storage Ideas

Use a closet shoe organizer to store fabrics. Use a 2 tier shelving (Lowe's) to store glues, spray adhesives, etc... Find or build shelf out of scrap wood to store glitters, embossing powders, etc...

I hope I have inspired you to come up with some organization ideas and I would love to hear all about it!
