Our home at Christmastime (Dec, 2006)

Kitchen

BEFORE (2005)

Just moved in... plain and boring... outdated and old vinyl flooring, ugly green countertops...

AFTER- two years later (2007)

Replaced countertops, light fixture and floors. Added brushed bronze pulls to cabinets and drawers.

Dining Room

BEFORE (2005)

Just moved in... plain and boring... carpet needed replacing.

1st makeover (2006)

Sewed the top covers for the chairs- the two framed art were made out of potpourri. I simply buy frames and remove the glasses and hot glue potpourris on the inside of the frames. Took carpet out, put down 12 by 12 vinyl tiles.

2nd makeover (2007)

Dining Room during the Fall Season.

Living Room

BEFORE (2005)

AFTER (2007)

Seaside Bathroom (2007)

Painted, a few decorating touches... will add frame around the mirror later.

Craft Room/4th Bedroom (2007)

After two years of trying to figure out what I want in a craft space, I finally got an inspiration from the book, "Scrapbook Workspace" and love it! It's very functional and easy to keep clean. I also have a closet for all my extra craft supplies. The table in the middle of the room can fit up to 4-6 people. My husband's desk is on the other side of the room, so my three children, my husband and I can all be in the same room doing our own thing but still be able to interact.  Click here for more on Craft Organization.

Update: My craft room photo and article was published in Creative Home Arts Magazine for November-December 2008!

Craft Corner (2008)

Since I've spent less time creating things and my daughters' bedroom was getting too small for the both of them, I've downsized a bit and created a craft corner in my bedroom. Not exactly my dream space like I had before, but hey... when you have kids, you have to make some sacrifices, right?

Girls Room

1st makeover-(2005)

Girls Room--Painted the room and vines, redone the whole dresser- stripped it down, sanded and stained it. This took a lot of work, but it was well worth it. Sewed the curtain, changed fabric on the lamp, sewed pillows, etc...

2nd makeover-(2007)

Two years later, the girls wanted individual beds, but still needed more storage, so I built them headboard/shelves. Repainted the room as well as it needed a fresh coat of paint.

3rd makeover- (2008)

I had given up my craft room (see above) because this room was getting WAY too small for both teenage girls! So now both girls have their own room. This is my younger daughter's room. I will post my oldest daughter's room soon, AFTER she cleans it up- whenever that may be! ;)

Son's Room

1st makeover- (2005)

I used mostly the airplane fabric to do this makeover. Painted the room, cut out airplanes from the fabric for the fan, wall and framed art. Covered the lamp shade with the same fabric. Sewed curtain and pillows.

2nd makeover-(2007)

This is two years later and I moved my son into another room and gave him a new look.

Master Bedroom (2006)

Few more changes soon.... carpet still needs replacing...

Other Projects

I built the "L" shaped planter bench for more seating- first time with this big of a wood project.

Something quick I wanted to put together to hold the croquet games- I used scrap wood for this.
