A bit about me:
I grew up in the
Seattle/Tacoma area in Washington State and currently live in
Gervais, Oregon with my husband and three children. I use mainly
sign language as my form of communication because I am deaf. My
oldest daughter is hard of hearing and the other three people in my
family have normal hearing, so we use both sign language and spoken
language in our home. I also have a younger brother who is deaf and
works as a teacher at a School for the Deaf. I enjoy my job working
full-time as a library and teaching assistant.
I love being with my
family at home. I met my husband in 2002 through an online dating
service called
Match.com and I couldn't thank him
enough for all the wonderful changes he has made in our lives and I
thank him especially for taking my children into his life as if they
were his own.
I enjoy reading
inspiration books and true stories, especially stories during WWII. I'd love to travel
to historic places in different parts of the world. I enjoy the
outdoors and bike riding when I get a chance. When I
have time, I like doing some photography as well as doing some craft
projects.
The name "New Memories"
came to mind when I realized that I had been given a chance to
change and improve my life. I became interested in web-designing and
eventually decided on a crafts website. I have always enjoyed crafts
for as long as I remember but it was not until five years ago when my
mother in law sent me some rubberstamping supplies and I have since
then found a deeper interest in a variety of projects.
All the projects I've
done were given as gifts to relatives and some friends. A couple of
projects have been done and sold by request, but this website is not
intended for business. My purpose for this website is to share ideas
with others, get inspired by others as well as inspiring them. I
have found that having a great hobby is one of the greatest thing
people can do for themselves.
I
hope you enjoy the projects I've done and hopefully this site has
helped you develop some ideas of your own and I would love to
hear from you.
